MOVING TIPS

At Marathon Moving Services, our goal is to make your move as stress free and easy as it should be. Here are some moving tips you can take note of for your next move.

Tip #1

Avoid using small tedious boxes and try to use full size moving boxes.

Tip #2

Have all boxes closed and sealed on the top and bottom with tape to prevent items from falling out.

Tip #3

Wrap pictures and have them boxed and sealed. Put them together by size.

Tip #4

Have TVs and monitors packed prior to the movers arriving. We are not liable to any damages to TVs that are not boxed.

Tip #5

Be sure to have lampshades packed together in a sealed box. They are too fragile to move alone.

Tip #6

Books should be packed tightly in small sealed boxes due to their weight.

Tip #7

Clothing may be left in small dresser drawers. Medium/Large dressers need to be emptied. Hanging clothes should be boxed in wardrobe boxes. We cannot move clothes unless they are boxed or bagged.

Tip #8

Remove pendulums from clocks or have them secured tightly to the base of the clock. Wrap and pack small clocks in boxes.

Tip #9

Have any refrigerators and freezers you plan to move empty (food, shelves, pans, trays) when movers arrive.

Tip #10

Have washers and dryers disconnected. We do not assemble/disassemble any appliances. Pack any loose parts separately in a place you will remember.

Tip #11

Have all fragile articles packed and secured separately in durable boxes.

Tip #12

Drain all oils and gas from lawn mowers and any other gas powered tools. We will not move flammable aerosol cans, paints, thinners, guns, ammunition or any hazardous materials.

Tip #13

You should keep all valuables (jewelry, watches, money, expensive artwork, legal documents, etc.) in your immediate possession & should be moved by the owner.

Tip #14

We can’t move any pictures, table lamps, computers, VCRs, stereo equipment or other fragile items unless they are packed properly in boxes.

Tip #15

If you are capable and willing, have beds, tables and etc disassembled prior to the movers arriving. This will save a good amount of time they would be spending using tools.

Tip #16

Make a designated area for items and furniture that are not to be moved.

Tip #17

Try to make sure everything that can fit in a box is boxed. When movers are only dealing with furniture and boxes it makes the move much more smooth!

My sister and I were in a dither! We had a U-Haul amount of items she was taking to Alabama. We were afraid to pack the van.and were pressed for time. We called Marathon and Milton and his crew were able to come the next morning and got my sister prepared to hit the road the next day! Milton and his team were fantastic! If you are considering Marathon Moving Services, just do it! It was a local move and so they quoted me an hourly rate (rather than by volume) which worked really well since I was unsure of how much stuff I would pack. They sent reminders before the actual move day and showed up on time. All three guys hustled and took good care of my belongings. Nothing was damaged and they didn't try to add on any additional fees at the end. I am grateful to have found them and I will be recommending them to anyone in the area who needs movers. Milton is downright the most professional, honest company I have ever dealt with, and more than anything, he is fair! I've used two different companies in the past that DAMAGED ALL MY THINGS and upcharged. I won't even say their names on this platform yet. I recently had the pleasure of using Marathon Moving Services, and I can't recommend them enough. I reached out to them last minute, literally the day before my move. Although there was a slight hiccup with the booking--my original 8:30 AM slot was double-booked--Milton reached out to me around 6 PM to inform me. Despite the inconvenience, he assured me he could fit me in at 12:30 PM. This actually worked out for the better, and I'm grateful for his flexibility.Milton and his team were professional, efficient, and excellent communicators throughout the entire process. I had labeled my items ahead of time, and they followed these labels meticulously, making both the transporting and unpacking processes a breeze. They also went above and beyond by taking down my mounted TV, which I hadn't mentioned in advance.The team carefully loaded the truck with great care and precision. At no point did I feel my items were at risk, which included delicate items like a projector screen, TV, and several desks. Everything was executed flawlessly and within a reasonable amount of time.Their process was very efficient, starting with an online form where I could input details about my move. Milton then called me to go over the details, which made the entire planning process smooth and stress-free.Overall, Marathon Moving Services exceeded my expectations. I will definitely hire Milton and the team again for any future moves. Highly recommended!

***I paid half the quoted price***First off I was in a pinch with scheduling, everyone else in the area was booked out. Milton moved mountains and kept me updated on opening a window to get me in. When the day came, A 3 man crew showed up, Devonte (the team lead) as well as Shawn and Vic handled my move and these guys really made it a comfortable experience. They packed everything and loaded it on the truck and brought it to my new apartment, keeping me updated on everything going on.. Their professionalism and chemistry as a team is absolutely unmatched and in the end I paid half of what was quoted to me and the job took way less time than expected. Highly recommend this being your first pick for your move.

Man what can I say…. These guys are #1 in the game!!!! Over 20 years of military moving and I have always had to leave stuff behind. I had the pleasure of having Marathon Moving Services move my furniture from my 2600 sqft home into storage. The movers are very professional, and they came prepared. I gave them less than 24 hours' notice, and they were able to fit me in their schedule. They have a 26-foot truck that was filled to the rim. I have a 20-foot storage container, and the movers fit all my belongings neatly inside of it without damaging anything. Their skill sets are impeccable. They are definitely worth the cost.
